Bio:
Calvin Keys, the renowned jazz guitarist celebrated among soul-jazz enthusiasts, was born in 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. His initial musical influence stemmed from his father Otis, a well-respected drummer who passed on the love for music to Calvin.
In 1971, Keys inked a deal with the Black Jazz label, releasing two albums and joining the Ray Charles Orchestra. His distinctive phrasing and the adept blending of sophisticated jazz harmonics with robust R&B and soul grooves were spotlighted nightly in the Charles band.
By 1975, Keys had established himself in the San Francisco Bay Area, actively engaging in its vibrant jazz community. He collaborated in live performances and recording sessions with notable artists such as John Handy, Bobby Hutcherson, Eddie Marshall, Bob Braye, Ed Kelly, Eddie Duran, Bruce Forman, Junius Simmons, and Eddie Moore.
In 1997, Keys faced a setback with heart surgery, undergoing a quadruple bypass. Undeterred, he released the highly praised "Detours into Unconscious Rhythms" on Wide Hive Records and embarked on tours in the U.S. and Europe. In 2005, Keys recorded "Calvinesque" for Silverado, which reached number 30 on the jazz charts. Subsequent releases included "Vertical Clearance" in 2006 and "Hand-Made Portrait" on Silverado.
Remaining an active presence in the contemporary jazz scene, Keys frequently graces venues in the San Francisco Bay area. He is a member and educator at the Oakland Public Conservatory (OPC), where he imparts his knowledge to aspiring musicians through private lessons and serves as a regular instructor at Jazz Camp West.

I'm Sparrow. I built this matrix so that every creator on the planet would be conceivably findable and accessible from all others, beginning with musicians in Bahia, Brazil. The matrix combines recommendation by both artificial and human intelligence (human preferred) and the small-world phenomenon (responsible for the fact that most humans are within 6 steps of most others) in a simple but powerful manner which has never been used before.
