Bio:
Ari Rosenschein is a Seattle-based writer whose essays and fiction appear in Entropy, Noisey, Drunk Monkeys, Dope, Observer, KEXP.ORG, The Big Takeover, The Bookends Review, and elsewhere. He holds an MFA in creative writing from Antioch Los Angeles.
A lifelong musician, Ari currently records and performs with his bands The Royal Oui and STAHV. He lives with his wife and dog and enjoys the woods, the rain, and the coffee of his chosen region. Coasting (Magnolia Press) is his debut collection.
Over the course of a career spanning more than two decades, Ari Rosenschein has written, recorded, and released music in styles ranging from power pop and post-rock to psychedelia and Americana. As a solo artist, he twice made the Grammy shortlist and toured the US, UK, Canada, and Japan. His songs appeared in TV shows and films like Veronica Mars, As Cool as I Am, and others. As a collaborator, Ari co-wrote the 2006 John Lennon Songwriting Contest Song of the Year with Latin artist Gaby Moreno and co-produced two albums with his wife, Canadian singer/songwriter Adrienne Pierce.
Ari’s current musical projects are The Royal Oui, a rootsy duo with Pierce, and instrumental doomgaze act STAHV.
