Brandon Deener had his debut solo art show called Children of the Sun, Sol Searchin' at Simchowitz gallery on Saturday February, 12, 2022. Deener's show is full of figurative works with strong features. The key motif is a portrait of a person with just a neck and nose with no eyes or face. The neck represents looking into the future and how long necks have become a statement of tribal beauty. The nose has become a caricature for capturing black portraits now reclaimed by Brandon Deener. Brandon Deener's realistic style transforms into minimal forms in this show.
