Hands up for the amazing Sidiki Dembélé, a true master of his craft. This song for the n’goni and calabash (traditional African instruments) was written in dedication to his grandfather, who was the chief griot for the Ivory Coast. Sidiki is joined by the Manchester Collective string quartet, who built upon the tune’s foundations through improvisation and playing together. Filmed as part of the Sirocco tour at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester in October 2020. Manchester Collective feat.
