Rowing in the Dark Podcast - Episode #2 w/ Jane Ira Bloom

Go to → Jane Ira Bloom
This is a piece called “Ten Years After the Rainbow” (I guess you know how the rest of the song goes…) and I’m playing it solo into the piano today because it makes me feel like I’m playing a duet with the strings. Seems appropriate for a time when we’re all self isolating but needing to find ways to connect. Interacting with sympathetic vibrations of the piano strings is like playing with other musicians and that’s what I miss most in the present circumstances. So music like a river always seeks another path when one way is blocked. As the horn stimulates the strings to echo back to my ears in new and unexpected ways, it hopefully finds its way to you.
