About Us

Salvador Bahia Online Watch Logo
We are estrangeiros in a strangely uplifting and marvel-filled land.

Help Spread the Word about an Amazing Place!

Brazil is a troubled country with an amazing culture (some would say that the relationship between trouble-and-culture is cause-and-effect, like the abrasive and destructive grain of sand enveloped in nacreous pearl).

We, with the moving music of others (hot-handed Brazilians) and our own expositions based in time-gathered experiences (and the moving also fiction of baiano de coração Ben Paris), do what we can to divulge the truly splendidly beautiful side of a place about which most people hear only the bad.

The matrix is of course virtual. We are also real-world-style flesh-and-blood dust-and-light in Cana Brava Records per the map below:

Rua João de Deus, 22
Pelourinho, Salvador
Bahia, Brazil

Our logo is a sugarcane cutter. The great root of Brazil’s fabulous national art (music) is on the sugarcane plantations of Bahia, across the  bay from Salvador.

The music which would become paramount in Brazil began at the very bottom of Brazil’s societal strata.

As the music which would become paramount in the United States, and to a great degree the entire world, likewise started at the bottom of the economic heap.

Both — Brazilian and American — born in the minds, hearts and souls of people who in a greater way of seeing things, were right there at the empyrean pinnacle.
