Life & Work

Bio: Vavá Botelho — Walson Botelho — is founder and artistic director of the Balé Folclórico da Bahia.

Born in 1961, he began dancing at 11 years of age and worked under the tutelage of Emília Biancardi, Lia Robatto, Carlos Moraes, Zalman King, Roberto Wagner Leite, and Deolindo Checucci, among others.
