HOW TO CURATE

When logged in, under 'Incoming Curation & Recommendations' will be seen categories with grey crosses to the right. Upon clicking these crosses they will turn green. And upon reloading the page a photograph of the curator will be seen associated with that category, with a link back to the curator's Matrix Page. On the curator's page, upon tapping "Curation" at the top, the curated creator will be seen, associated with each category for which they have been recommended, with a link to their Matrix Page.

When tapping a category on anybody's page, other creators in that category will be presented as well.

All is closer than we know.

HOW THIS WORKS

This is a matrix in the original sense of the word: source, "matrix" derived from "mater", Latin for "mother".

The Matrix's roots are in Manhattan, in a "royalty recovery" business working with clients ranging from Mongo Santamaria to Led Zeppelin to Philip Glass to Jim Hall to Barbra Streisand and Aretha Franklin...to Earl "Speedo" Carroll of 1950s doo-wop group The Cadillacs, whose career and its wave-like "parallel" with the career of Bahian Raymundo Sodré inspired it.

Its foundation is in Bahia, Brazil, where it began as an extension of a record shop devoted to the regional music of the area around Bahia's great Bay of All Saints, and the arid backlands in the Bahian interior.

In order to extend the shop's ethos, I created this network not merely encompassing the musicians to whom the shop was devoted, but endeavoring to encompass all creators and catalysts in all arts (widely speaking) around the world...

With two consequences:

1a. Any creator anywhere can curate (recommend) a Bahian artist, introducing the Bahian to that creator's audience, and

1b. Any creator anywhere can curate (recommend) any creator anywhere, introducing the recommended creator (or demonstrating recognition) to the recommending creator's audience.

2. A network such as this will be "small world", meaning that as it grows, "mathematical gravity" will tend to position the people inside it a small number of steps away from everybody else inside it. Unknown artists will be steps away from everywhere; artists perhaps very well-known (famous!) in one or some places but not everywhere will be steps away from everywhere.

A network such as this (this is the only one in the world) will not function if it is not egalitarian worldwide. In order to work for the Brazilians it must work for everybody. Which is fine in that there is brilliant culture and genius all around our planet.

And now it is (or will be) all just steps away...

Below are already existing categories (some, such as "Bahia", or "Jazz", contain many people; others may have just one or several people)... you may create your own relevant categories (for example: "Marimba", "Nairobi", "Edmonton School of Arts Faculty"...). Translated categories should be separated by a comma, like this: Brasil, Brazil.
