Last Friday of the Month Samba in Santo Antônio

In the Largo do Santo Antônio, at the northern end of Salvador's neighborhood of Santo Antônio além do Carmo, behind the church (a Igreja de Santo Antônio, quite naturally).
Grupo Botequim generally plays the last Friday of the month here, and it is wonderful! GREAT samba de mesa, featuring the music of masters from Salvador as well as Rio de Janeiro.
Begins officially at 9:30 p.m. but the heat turns up a bit later. Beer sold on the premises by the parish priest in charge of the church. Entrance is 15 reais or so. It's a scene.
